Digvesh Rathi emulated West Indian player Kesrick Williams’s famous ‘writing the name in wicket-taking log’ celebration after dismissing Punjab Kings (PBKS) batter Priyansh Arya in Lucknow.
Chasing 172 against the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) at their home ground, PBKS began on a great note with wicketkeeper batter Prabhsimran Singh teeing off and dealing in boundaries.
PBKS were going at nearly nine runs/over (above the required run rate), when, on the fifth ball of the third over, Arya saw Rathi bowl a short one which went outside off after turning. He tried to drag the ball from the leg-side and skied it straight up. Shardul Thakur ran in from mid-on and took the catch.
Rathi, who plays for Delhi just like Arya, got super pumped to dish out the Williams celebration by walking along with Arya as he went to the pavilion and gesturing that he was ticking off his name in his wicket-taking log.
