W 4 W - this is what Kolkata Knight Riders’ (KKR) Vaibhav Arora has done against Sunrisers Hyderabad’s (SRH) Travis Head in the Indian Premier League (IPL). The right-arm paceman has dismissed the dangerous Australian batter twice in the space of three deliveries in the T20s.
When KKR hammered SRH in the IPL 2024 final, it was Arora who knocked over Head for a golden duck and set the tone for his team. The two sides were up against each other at Eden Gardens on April 3 (Thursday), and it was once again Arora who got the better of Head.
Chasing a target of 201, Head started the innings with a boundary, but Arora got his revenge on the very next delivery. The paceman went full, got some late movement, and Head went for a big heave, only to get it off the toe-end of the bat.
It looked like the ball would drop over mid-off, but Harshit Rana back-peddled and completed the catch despite tumbling backwards.
Having started the IPL 2025 with scores of 67, 47, and 22, Head continued his mediocre record in the second innings. In the IPL, the left-hander averages 40.89 in the first innings, which drops to 25.14 in the second innings.
That’s not it; Head also has a terrible record in the 200-plus chases in the IPL. In five innings, Head only has 48 runs at an average of 9.6.
Arora didn't stop there, and he dismissed Ishan Kishan in his next over, thanks to a stunning catch by Ajinkya Rahane at cover. This was the second time Arora dismissed Kishan in the space of 13 balls.
