Arshdeep putting the King in PBKS
The left-arm pacer began on a great note in the game in Lucknow and dismissed the in-form Mitchell Marsh in the first over of the game itself. He was hit hard by Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) batters early on, but came back at the death to dismiss Ayush Badoni and Abdul Samad, allowing his team to restrict the opposition well below par on a good batting surface.
Badoni and Samad flex finishing prowess
LSG were 119/5 in 15.5 overs when David Miller got out. After that, Ayush Badoni and Abdul Samad combined to show really good death-over batting and scored 47 runs in just 21 deliveries together to help their team reach 171 in 20 overs despite a really poor first half of the innings.
Prabhsimran shows his pedigree
Prabhsimran batted brilliantly in the chase and led PBKS’s charge towards 172 run target in Lucknow. He was playing reverse sweeps and other funky shots along with some solid on-the-ground hits, and smashed nine fours and three sixes in the 33 deliveries.
He also held the chase after Priyansh Arya was dismissed in the third over and, along with Shreyas Iyer, batted above the required run rate until he was finally dismissed by Digvesh Rathi in the 11th over.
Shreyas Iyer is in supreme form
PBKS’s skipper is looking in great touch both as a captain and a batter in this IPL season. He scored his second fifty in a row, putting on 52* off just 30 deliveries. Nehal Wadhera also smashed the leather off the ball and scored 43 off 25 to end the chase in just 16.2 overs.
