England captain Jos Buttler, on January 25 (Saturday), became the first batter to cross the 600-run mark in T20Is against India.
Buttler scored 45 off 30 in the second T20I against India in Chennai and now has the most number of runs in this format against the Men in Blue.
Before this, West Indies’ dynamic batter Nicholas Pooran (592 runs in 20 innings @ 32.89) had the most runs against India.
Buttler slammed two fours and three maximums during his knock in the second T20I. The right-hander has 611 runs in 21 T20I innings @ 35.94 and a strike rate of 146.9 against India, studded with five fifties.
In the same innings, Buttler also became the fourth batter to hit 150 sixes in T20Is after Rohit Sharma (205), New Zealand's Martin Guptill (173) and UAE's Muhammad Waseem (158).
Buttler eventually got out to Axar Patel, getting caught at deep mid-wicket.
Even in the first T20I, Buttler was the only England batter who looked comfortable against India’s bowling unit. He got 68 off 44 in a match where no other English batter scored more than 17 runs.
