Bumrah records joint-highest ICC rating points for an Indian bowler

India pacer Jasprit Bumrah achieved the joint-highest rating points for an Indian bowler in the rankings by the International Cricket Council (ICC) on December 25 (Wednesday). He now has 904 rating points, equal to what Ravichandran Ashwin also had at the peak of his ICC rankings. 

However, Bumrah, who is currently ranked number one in the ICC rankings, has two Tests in Melbourne and Sydney in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT), and if he gains even one more rating point, he could become the highest-rated Indian bowler in ICC rankings history.

Ashwin had achieved his highest rating point in December 2016. 

Meanwhile, Travis Head moved to the fourth position among the batters after yet another century at the Gabba. Steve Smith, with his first century of the series, managed to get back into the top 10 after he had moved out of it last week. 

Among Indian batters, KL Rahul reached the 40th position ahead of the Boxing Day Test. He moved 10 places upwards. 

Heinrich Klaasen moved to fifth position in the ICC ODI batters’ rankings after three half-centuries against Pakistan. In the same series, Pakistan’s Saim Ayub hit two centuries and therefore jumped to 23rd, jumping a whopping 47 spots.
